President Mnangagwa impressed with economic growth…says it defied Covid-19 odds

Zimbabwe has been declared the fastest growing economy in the region with the 2021 growth expected to surpass earlier projections as a result of unity of purpose between Government and private sector and the general populace.

Addressing masses at the ZITF, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the Second Republic is committed to breathe life to the NDS1.

“Government is unwavering in its commitment to take bold measures to turn Zimbabwe as an attractive destination. Foreign currency earning which have reached approximately USD5 billion attests to the regrowth of the Zimbabwe economy,” he said.

Running under the theme, “Showcasing the new normal for business and industry: realities and opportunities, the 61st Edition of the ZITF attracted investors keen on exploring opportunities lying in Zimbabwe.

President Mnangagwa expressed high gratitude for the 90 percent space occupation at this year’s edition, despite the outbreak of the pandemic.

He further said;

“I commend the ZITF on the launch of the inaugural Diplomatic Forum which is testimony to the Engagement and Re-Engagement drive initiated by the Second Republic. This year’s theme reflects the New Dispensation’s focus towards growing the economy. Let me applaud the private sector for demonstrating resilience in the face of the Covid-19”.
