In what would erode confidence in the state of justice at courts in Zimbabwe, the case between prominent building contractor George Katsimberis and West Properties boss Ken Sharpe who is AWOL, has again been postponed to the 22nd of September 2021 as some applications had to be submitted beforehand.

Michael Van Blerk,  Hosiah Chisango, Isiah Chawatama, Samuel Nyabezi and Lasten Taonezvi are among other things charged for malicious destruction of property for destroying George Katsimberis’ show house worth US$300 000.

Documents gleaned by this publication state that sometime between July 2018 and October 2018, at plot 9 of 21 on consolidated number 19559 of 19828 Harare Township, Corner Teviotdale and Whitwell Borrowdale, Michael Van Blerk, Mandla Marlone Ndebele, Hosiah Chisango, Isiah Zvenyika Chawatama, Samuel Nyabezi, Lasten Taonezvi and Ken Sharpe destroyed a show house constructed by Katsimberis.

Alternatively, Chisango, Chawatama, Nyabezi and Taonezvi face charges for criminal abuse of office for falsely claiming that there were no approved plans for the show house whereas Katsimberis maintains that he holds evidence that proves otherwise.

The matter was deferred to the 22nd of September 2021 as some applications had to be submitted beforehand.
