The Revolutionary Party youth league has applauded cabinet on its decision to reinstate the National Youth service saying the move will go a long way in accelarating the attainment of Vision 2030.
Addressing the ZANU PF Youth national assembly, Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tendai Chirau said the league celebrates the coming back of the National Youth Service since the programme plays a pivotal role in nurturing young people to be responsible and patriotic citizens.
“To be equally celebrated, is the recent decision by Cabinet to re-instate the National Youth Service programme in a long overdue effort to nurture young people into becoming responsible and resilient citizens with a clear sense of national identity and respect for national values. As a revolutionary Youth League, we believe that true security, empowerment and prosperity begins in the mind, and the NYS is there to address the mindset gap. We thank the people’s Cabinet for the strategic decision,” said Cde Chirau.
Cde Chirau also added that as the nation marches towards achieving Vision 2030, currently driven through the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), young people must remain ever committed and support all government polices.
