ZANU PF First Secretary and President Cde E.D Mnangagwa says preparations for this year’s independence celebrations have gathered momentum.

Zimbabwe celebrates Independence from colonial rule and remembers heroes that lost their lives, while others were maimed to bring the freedom that many enjoy today.

Opening the 115th session of the Central Committee, President Mnangagwa said the “meeting provides us with the opportunity to receive comprehensive update reports on the activities and programmes of both, the Party and Government. Equally, we are convening this meeting as the preparations for our Independence Day have gained momentum. This year’s celebrations will be held under the theme, “Zimbabwe at 41; Together, Growing our Economy for a Prosperous, Risilient and Inclusive Society.”

This session is the first this year and was held under COVID-19 regulations of social distancing, sanitising and testing.
